Simbit Simsave
Simsave is a SIM based value-added-service to backup and synchronize a subscriber�s mobile phonebook via SMS. Using Simsave, a subscriber can:
- Wirelessly backup and restore the mobile phonebook. The SIM phonebook is sent via SMS to a server where it is securely stored. If a subscriber loses or changes their SIM, their phonebook can be easily restored using Simsave.
- Manage the mobile phonebook using an operator�s Web Portal. A subscriber can view and edit their mobile phonebook over the Internet using any Web browser. Updates are automatically synchronized with the SIM phonebook. The Web phonebook interface can be integrated with an operator�s existing Web Portal.
- Synchronize with other electronic phonebooks. Simsave supports SyncML to allow the SIM phonebook to synchronized with any SyncML compatible server.
My roles at simbit included writing the high performance cross platform framework on which the server is based as well as half the features in the product. In addition to this I worked with clients and integrators to help them understand and customize the product. Components that I wrote include the custom SOAP server and SyncML client. I also designed and wrote several GUI tools to help to debug and test the application.
